Let me share with you some facts… There are 925 million people globally who do not have enough to eat. And many are children. Undernutrition contributes to 5M deaths of children under 5 years old each year. One quarter which is roughly 146 million in developing countries are underweight. One third of deaths of children under 5 are caused by undernutrition. The first 1,000 days of a child’s life are critical to tackle undernutrition.

October 16 is World Food Day. Join me in supporting The World Food Programme‘s efforts in providing approximately 460 million meals to millions of people in remote corners of the world. If you donate on October 16 then your donation will be matched by YUM! Brands.

As a mother, I understand the importance of good nutrition in ensuring a child grows healthy and strong. It ONLY cost $.25 per day to provide a child with all the vitamins and nutrients they need to thrive. Unfortunately, hunger is a serious problem facing many children throughout the world. I currently live in a poor rural county where children face many challenges. Hunger is one of them. And it pains me to see this.

One child who is hungry is one child too many. That’s how I feel about it. Period.

Let’s fight hunger. Together. Go to Hunger to Hope and work towards stamping out hunger globally.
